Greenside Residents Association and Parkhurst Residents Association representatives addressed an online meeting on 1 February 2024 to give information on what they are doing to put pressure on the City to resolve the problems of the numerous people that are living illegally in and around the Parkhurst Bowls Club. They are also proposing a number of measures to secure the area. ERA is also supporting their initiative.

The speakers outlined how crime has escalated in the surrounding areas, noxious fumes are continually being burned by wastepickers and dwellers while ongoing pedestrian traffic between the Bowls Club and the Pikitup dump and Wastepreneurs is leading to dangerous road conditions on this road. All of these factors are having a negative impact on property prices in the vicinity.
