Come join a work morning – 6 April 2019, dog-walking section of Emmarentia park

Work parties are continuing in the park. One was held in February and another is planned for 6 April from 8h00 – 12h00.

We continue to weed and dig out invasive alien plants. With the huge amount of rain that we have been having it is an uphill battle. Last year, in the forested area above the main dam, between the river and the Louw Geldenhuys entrance, we chainsawed invasive alien trees (especially privets), poisoned their stumps and opened up the area to more light. Some arum lilies are starting to appear. But there are still many mothcatchers and bugweeds and other invasives that are trying to re-establish themselves in the area.

Come and help us clear them out before they get too big.

Meet at Orange Rd entrance. Come for 30 minutes or longer. OR:
