Parkview CPF Nomination Information Evening – 2 April
April 2 - 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Please attend the meeting of the Parkview Community Policing Forum (CPF) on Wednesday 2 April, at the 1st Greenside Scout Hall, John Mackenzie Drive, Emmarentia.
The CPF is a statutory entity that seeks to combine communities with the Police. It is meant to facilitate discussion on safety problems in our areas so that SAPS and communities can mutually determine how these can be addressed. It also ensures police accountability, transparency and effectiveness.
Late in 2024, the entire executive of the Parkview CPF resigned. This has reduced communication between our suburb and others in the precinct with SAPS and meant there has been no police oversight body. We need the CPF structure to be re-established.
Please attend this meeting. According to Thabo Thipe from the Department of Community Safety in the Gauteng provincial government, “It’s not the nomination meeting nor the elections for the CPF. The purpose of the meeting will be to explain the process of the election at sector level and the CPF mother body. The nomination forms and where to collect and drop off will be discussed on the 2nd. We encourage all community members to attend in numbers.”
